Las Vegas Aces head coach Becky Hammon has never been one to hold back her opinions, and her latest comments about Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo and WNBA MVP A'ja Wilson are no exception. During a recent interview, Hammon made a lighthearted but confident prediction about what kind of parents the two basketball stars would become.
Hammon, who has coached Wilson for multiple seasons with the Aces, knows the two-time MVP's personality well. She also has a front-row seat to Adebayo's game, having coached against him in various settings. When asked about the couple's potential future as parents, Hammon didn't hesitate.
"I think they're going to have the most competitive household in sports," Hammon said with a laugh. "You've got two elite athletes who hate losing more than they love winning. That energy doesn't just disappear when you have kids. It multiplies."
The coach went on to explain that both Adebayo and Wilson possess a rare combination of discipline, patience, and fierce drive. She predicted their children would likely be multi-sport athletes, but warned that bedtime arguments over who won a backyard game of HORSE might become a nightly occurrence.
Hammon also noted that Wilson's nurturing side, often seen in how she interacts with younger teammates, would balance out the competitive fire. "A'ja has this ability to push people while also making them feel supported. That's going to be huge as a parent."
The prediction comes as Adebayo and Wilson continue to build their relationship away from the court. Both players are currently focused on their respective seasons, with Wilson chasing another WNBA title and Adebayo preparing for another deep playoff run with the Heat.
Fans have already started speculating about what a future basketball prodigy from those two genes might look like. But for now, Hammon is just enjoying the thought of watching it unfold.
